And if you're seven, a walk in the woods involves a lot of exploring and swinging from dead trees. Oh, to have the energy. We finished the day with what we call an Encore Buffet--more of same sides plus barbecue from our judges' grueling day of tasting. |
After dire predictions the last five days for yesterday's weather, we had another great spring day. The storms hit shortly after midnight, with one crack of thunder so loud that I thought we were under attack. But I went back to sleep immediately and woke briefly around 3:00 to no rain at all. This morning looks beautiful although the radar indicates that we won't be so fortunate on our journey back to Iowa today. But the great weather yesterday made possible a lot of walking and a couple of geocache hunts--a great way to see more of this beautiful park. Niece Amy and 7-year-old Kate returned in the late afternoon and joined us on the second hunt. Both of the caches we found had lots of toys and trinkets in them but you shouldn't take anything out unless you put something back in. Fortunately, Amy had some bacon bandaids in her car that we could put in, but then who doesn't?

I'm glad the storm didn't blow you off the cliffs! Thanks again for a fun weekend.
