Camping by the Numbers

 Time for debriefing. Our nine days of camping in Northern Iowa involved:

• 15 trips to the camper to load
• 132 stories around the campfire--3 of them true
• 148 miles of biking, give or take a hundred or so
• 6 books sold
• 1500 words written; 3000 less than the goal
• 3 recommendations for parks to try suggested in comments on my blog
• 2 major storms dumping 5.25 inches of rain on us
• 0: games of cards, dominoes, or cribbage. We are slipping.
• 1 five star new dessert: Letha's peach cobbler in the cast iron Dutch oven
• 5 sets of training wheels but none terribly loud
• 2 great Iowa parks: George Wyth and Beed's Lake
• 7 loads of laundry
• 2 sky lanterns launched
• 5 fun new spots visited: Sullivan Brothers Veterans Museum, Waterloo; RiverLoop Ampitheater, Waterloo; Rustic Brew, Hampton; Wood Cellar, Hampton; Park Inn Hotel, Mason City
  
• 18 trips from the camper to unload (how does that happen?)

All in all, nine days of fun.
